Kaden has worked in the Capitol offices of two state senators – John Carona and Charles Schwertner.  He staffed Senator Schwertner during the Sunset Commission’s 2015 review cycle and developed a deep working knowledge of the Sunset Review process.  In the 84th Legislative Session, he was responsible for legislation originating from three different committees (Business and Commerce, Natural Resources and Criminal Justice) and for a variety of state budget issues within the Finance Committee.  He has significant experience in a broad range of policy issues, including health insurance and professional licensing.

During the 83rd Legislative Session, Kaden worked as a lobbyist, representing the interests of nine separate clients before the Texas Senate and House of Representatives.  In this capacity, he monitored all filed legislation, considered each piece’s impact on his clients and kept his clients informed via weekly analysis reports.  He also developed strong relationships with legislative staff to effectively advance and defend his clients’ interests.
